Why is conscious communication important? Because as soon as you become attached to a desired outcome…

- getting that job or apartment
- finding “the one”
- negotiating a deal
- avoiding conflict or loss
etc.

… you are more likely to drop your integrity and compromise from a place of lack.

I don’t think ‘compromise’ is a good measure of true communication.

I prefer the idea of multiple truths. For it’s only when you accept the other’s position as inherently separate that you can actually connect intimately.

Trying to bend your truth to suit another or vice versa results in resentment or a convoluted sense of transparency.

Instead, learning to truly HEAR where people are coming from, driven by curiosity rather than fear, allows us to take in the reality of what’s happening.

And adjust.

How then not to allow Other’s truth from washing away our own?

How to accept someone’s else’s desire while not forfeiting ours?

Here we work through how to use our voice constructively.

Not over giving from a place of compensation…

Nor pulling back into retreat and avoidance…

These same dynamics will show up whether at work, home or the bedroom.

We repeat our communication patterns everywhere we go so we may as well bring consciousness to them.
